Dear Readers,

This newsletter offers you up-to-date information on the range of activities we have undertaken under the Increasing of Vocational Competences of Vocational Competences of Commercial Vehicle Drivers, Project VOC of DRIVERS/2019-1-TR01-KA202-074813.

All the partners -the Turkish Federation Of Commercial Drivers and Vehicle Owners, the Directorate-General of Private Education under the Ministry of National Education and TUMEDEF (Federation of All Education Associations) from the Republic of Turkey; CNA Pesaro and Urbino and Training 2000 psc from Italy; PONS from Spain; IBF from Germany; and the university (SUPSI) from Switzerland- keep on  working synchronously during these months.

At present, all the partners have already finalized three important intellectual outputs of the project and the fourth one is almost ready to be published(IO4) , keeping up to date and ready to contribute through e-mails, online meetings, and mobile technologies.

The Fourth Transnational Project Meeting of the project, organized by the host partners Training2000 and CNA Pesaro and Urbino, was held in Fano-Italy on 11th-12th April 2022, under the coordination of TŞOF and was focused on the finalization of IO4. The meeting was attended in presence by most of the representatives of project partners. The Spanish partner (PONS) did not attend the f2f meeting, however Carlos Bodi represented the organization during the meeting online. The meeting was efficient and successful for the whole team involved.

SUMMARY OF ACTIVITIES:

IO1- The first output of the project, “Joint Report on the Profile of Drivers Employed in Road Transport and Analysis of Training Expectations”, was completed and coordinated by the Federation of Drivers and Motorists of Turkey (TŞOF) in September 2020. As previously said, the report included the profile, competences, training, and certification of drivers employed in passenger transport, use of digital materials in training, e-learning practices, relevant working terms and conditions, but also a part of the need analysis. The results contributed to form the basis for the following outputs of the project (competence map and training curriculum, e-materials, and pilot training activities).

IO2- The identification and mapping of common competences for drivers involved in passenger transport in partner countries was at the core of the second output, which was coordinated by CNA and implemented through each country identifying their own competences.

IO 3- The third output of the project has been finalized. Comments have been collected in order to improve the e-material taking into account the pilot training feedback: a more detailed description of the competence map and the following table will be added on the website. As to the finalization of the training material, all the partners will share needed changes in order to review all all the training modules. The 7 fields and 14 modules in the competence map are fully open and already accessible on the project website(http://vocofdrivers.tsof.org.tr/en/outputs/).

IO4-The fourth output of the project is almost finalized. During the meeting, the Leading organization delivered a presentation regarding the fourth intellectual output of the project; IO4 “Testing of the developed training methodology: Competence Map and the training content frameworks” was discussed with all partners.

The Ministry of National Education and TÜMEDEF were involved in the finalization of the outcome report aiming at improving the project contents and materials as a whole. The main findings of the IO4 international report were presented by the Turkish Partner Coordinator. The most relevant feedbacks of the pilot trainings were discussed in order to improve the training contents. A total of 105 drivers participated in the pilot training of the competence map, the online training platform and the training material and provided feedbacks and suggestions and similarly, 61 trainers from the partner countriesevaluated the commercial vehicle driver trainings with their didactics. According to the results collected within the international Report, the evaluations of the driver trainers and drivers participating in the pilot training regarding the project outputs have been mainly positive in terms of sufficiency of the training materials, the accuracy of the competence map and efficiency of the e-learning platform. The respondents state that the e-materials meet their training needs so they achieve a high level of satisfaction with the project training content. The User-friendliness and ease of access of the platform as well as the clear and understandable language of digital materials were evaluated positively by the majority of the respondents, both trainers and drivers. The slideshow created for the training modules with H5P tool was another plus point for the trainers because it facilitated the learning process and made content acquisition more dynamic.

During the fourth Transnational meeting in Fano, all the partners visited the Local Municipal Office in Pesaro were welcomed by the President of the city council/Municipality (Marco Perugini) and other representatives of the local authority. The president of CNA- Moreno Bordoni- presented the VOC project and its main outputs among the participants, outlined the importance of the EU project at regional, national and international level.

Finally all the partners visited a driving school and participated in a open discussion concerning professional drivers, driving license and driving exams at EU level. The partners described their national procedure in order to discuss the differences and the similarities among the partner countries.
